SOOP THEATRE COMPANY
Musical Theatre (K-8th)
10 week workshop - students learn how to further develop their instrument. Emphasis will be on ensemble building, character development and creative collaboration. The final day of class culminates with a presentation of musical highlights to share their work in a supportive, low pressure performing opportunity.
THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Theatre/Visual Arts
Partners with NYC DOE schools to create community based arts programming. This year, she is working to develop programming revolving around student activism, empathy, artistic protest, and devised theatre.
THE SECRET THEATRE
Drama (3rd-8th)
Led week-long musical theatre workshops in the Summer of 2021 and continues to partner with Richard Mazda to create interesting original programming for their Junior Drama students.
MANHATTAN YOUTH
Musical Theatre (6th-8th)
Manhattan Youth provides a comprehensive after-school program at East Side Middle School. Runs their theatrical after-school programming and produces/directs their spring musical. All activities are free to participants thanks to funding from the Department of Youth and Community Development.
DREAMCOLLEGEUS
Shakespeare and Story
In an attempt to answer the question, "why are we still telling these stories 400 years later?" students are tasked with examining 3 major texts by William Shakespeare. After each analysis and discussion, students write a short story inspired by the text(s) discussed. They then share their short stories in the final week of class for collective feedback.
CENTER FOR EDUCATIONAL INNOVATION
WALLS4CHANGE
WALLS4CHANGE is a student arts residency program that empowers students to have a voice on social issues through creating school murals to effect change in their communities. In addition to learning art skills, students survey art and artists, learn about public art and social activism, and create a powerful mural with a message on a major social issue.
OVATION ACADEMY
Theatrical Makeup
Stage Makeup 101 is an interactive video experience where students will be taught step by step the pillars of theatrical makeup and design. Through trial and error, students will learn color theory, anatomy, and how to design and execute a character for the stage using makeup. So pick up a kit, set up your station, and let's makeup those faces!
THE SHADOW BOX THEATRE
The Earth and Me (K-5th)
6-month residency - worked with predominantly Asian-American families to create a show set to perform in June of 2019. The program aimed to use theatre as a gateway for these families to better understand English and create new memories. Main role in the program is as a puppet master and builder.
